The SKALSKI family received their visas from Aristides de Sousa Mendes in Bordeaux on May 24, 1940.
Klemens SKALSKI Sr. was the Honorary Consul of Portugal in Warsaw, Poland.
The family crossed into Portugal and subsequently travelled to Brazil on the Serpa Pinto in November 1940 before continuing on to the United States in May 1941.
